CTE EXPO Reflection

The CTE expo is an event when freshmen are invited to see the work of sophmores, juniors, and seniors and they get they check out their work and we explained to the process of joining the academy. It was basically an info session for the freshmen.For the expo, we had to display our portfolio and make a working game to display to the freshman.

The first 20 minutes the freshmen student went to video to check there work and the last 20 minutes of the period the student came to our class to check the work. I talked to many freshmen students and displayed my work and gave them an insight of how to apply and what to expect from the academy. It overall went well for me because most of the freshmen I met were actually interested or had some prior knowledge of coding So, they were very excited to join and I also explained the benefits of having a CTE diploma. One huge positive for the expo was how much work there was on display almost every computer had someone's work on display. So, there was a lot the freshmen can look and decide on if they liked it or not and one negative was that some freshmen didn't really participate or were interested at all.They didn't wanna talk and would just walk away. One way to fix it would be taking a survey of the class coming of how many students are actually interested to join and how many are not so we get a better idea of the people coming and we can spend more time with the people that actually wanna join and also focus on the students who don't and give them interesting reason they should join.


Overall it was a great event not only for a freshman but also for us to get more experience under our belt and to prepare us for the future.

         Net Neutrality repeal!  This post is from current news and form my knowledge. I am concerned so I thought it was important to write about it.  Foxnews ,  The guradian The FCC(federal communication commissions) repealed Net neutrality that was placed by Obama. What is net neutrality? Net neutrality is when you have free access to the internet. Now you have  each and every website and no one can block you or block content but Now that net neutrality got repealed your access to those information might be reduced or blocked and the government or hosting site have the power. So now people wont be able to write freely on the internet or use it free. government will be watching and it is not good! The internet was successful and used widely because its free and i believe that if net neutrality gets taken out, The use of the internet will be effected in a wide range.
