Junior Achievements

Hello everyone! We had a very good time with the junior achievement trip. The main objective of this trip was to Teach children in a school. So we were assigned a group of 4-5 members. And We had a whole day to teach the kids. And the lessons were provided by junior achievement but we had to plan them out, discuss them and present them to the kids. So for each group they had 5 sessions and 5 activities. So for the first part we all had to do a little bit of the first part. We had to introduce our selves and then we went on to the activities. The students were excited and it was a very good experience.

Color Sleuth App

Image
Color sleuth app is an app that we built in code.org from scratch. We had all the instruction and the instructions walked us through how to build it. The sleuth is a 2 player game where you have to find the color box that has a little different tone then all the other 3 colors and who ever finds it gets a point. If you don't find it its ok you wont get any point or get any deducted point but who ever presses wrong color they will loose 1 point. Also the game ends when it reaches 10. Overall building the game was fun because we got to use variables, loops, if else statement. And it was a really good experience and a good practice for building our own app.

It was basically an info session for the freshmen. For the expo, we had to display our portfolio and make a working game to display to the freshman. The first 20 minutes the freshmen student went to video to check there work and the last 20 minutes of the period the student came to our class to check the work. I talked to many freshmen students and displayed my work and gave them an insight of how to apply and what to expect from the academy. It overall went well for me because most of the freshmen I met were actually interested or had some prior knowledge of coding So, they were very excited to join and I also explained the benefits of having a CTE diploma. One huge positive for the expo was how much work there was on display almost every computer had someone's work on display. So, ther...
